How are sales tracked through attribution?

Sales tracked through attribution utilize the Amazon attribution API. Wayward connects directly to the Amazon Attribution API, which:

  • Automatically generates and manages attribution tags

  • Measures clicks and click-attributed conversions (e.g., product detail views, purchases)

  • Uses last-click attribution, meaning the final link a user clicks before converting is the one that gets credit

Once your Amazon Ads account is synced and your products are enabled for Attribution, creators can promote your products through Wayward attribution links through our creator portal. All sales and performance data is pulled via the API and reflected in your Wayward analytics Attribution dashboard.

Additionally, Attribution campaigns will be created automatically in your Amazon Ads account when creators generate links through the platform. You'll be able to see these ids in the Analytics page of the platform and within your Amazon Ads console (all wayward campaigns start with "wyrd"). No action is required on your end for this.

All sales tracked through attribution are eligible for Amazon's Brand Referral Bonus.

The Brand Referral Bonus is an Amazon program that rewards Ad Campaigns that bring external traffic onto Amazon with a 10% rebate. If, as a brand, you are enrolled in Amazon’s Brand Registry and an Amazon Seller (not Vendor), then you are eligible for the brand referral bonus. Why am I not seeing sales through attribution?

Attribution sales typically come from smaller creators and influencers who share links on social media or their personal blogs. Most brands see stronger performance through Associates because it includes large-scale publisher partners—many of whom don’t use Attribution links due to Amazon’s policies. Since Wayward is the only affiliate platform offering an Associates-based solution for these publishers, the majority of tracked sales often come through that channel instead.
