Yes. We’re unable to differentiate between sales that come from your own offer versus those from resellers. This means you may be charged for conversions tracked to your links even when you did not win the Buy Box.
All tracking within the Amazon Affiliate ecosystem—across our Amazon Advertising Attribution-based program, Amazon Associates-based program, and Creator Connections campaigns—occurs at the brand level, not the seller level. As a result, there’s currently no way to tell which offer “won the Buy Box” at the time of purchase.
If this is a concern, there are two approaches you can take:
Disable ASINs that are also sold by 3P sellers
You can disable these directly in the platform, or send us a list of affected ASINs and our team can disable them for you.
Adjust commission rates to account for Buy Box share
You can factor your Buy Box win rate into your commission rates for ASINs that are also sold by other sellers.
To find your Buy Box win rate, go to Seller Central → Reports → Business Reports → Detail Page Sales & Traffic by Child Item (or by Parent Item).
Once you have your win rate, use the formula below to calculate an adjusted commission rate:
Commission Rate × Buy Box Win Rate = Effective Commission Rate
Example: 10% commission × 90% Buy Box win rate = 9% effective commission rate
This helps ensure your commission structure reflects the likelihood of your brand actually winning the Buy Box on any given ASIN.
