Walmart Affiliate Integration

Written by Wayward
Updated over 2 months ago

Our Walmart Affiliate Integration provides brands with a new way to drive high-converting traffic to their Walmart listings through our premium publisher network.

How it works

Wayward enables brands to drive incremental sales on Walmart by making their products available for promotion across a network of top media publishers. Through our Walmart integration, brands can set custom Walmart affiliate commission rates in Wayward to incentivize publishers to feature and promote their products.

This ensures your products reach a wider audience through trusted media content, driving additional traffic and sales on Walmart alongside your Amazon listings.

Publishers include

Buzzfeed, DotDash, Forbes, BestReviews.Guide, BuyersReport, and more.

How do I activate my products for Walmart promotion?

⭐ You can watch this short tutorial HERE to enable your products for Walmart promotion

To enroll in the Walmart Affiliate program through Wayward and make your products eligible for promotion across our premium publisher network:

  1. Set your Walmart affiliate commission rate – we recommend 15% or higher.

  2. Enable your products for Walmart promotion in the Products tab on Wayward.

Once enabled, your products are automatically eligible for promotion by our network of publishers.

Pricing:

All sales tracked through the Walmart Integration follow Wayward’s standard pricing model:

  • Variable commission: Determined by the commission rate you set for the product in Wayward. This commission is paid out to publishers.

  • Usage fee: A 5% fee is charged on the total sales price of each product at the time of purchase.

Walmart FAQs:

Question: What’s the advantage of the Walmart integration?

Answer:

With the Walmart integration, Wayward can now track and facilitate sales generated through Walmart shopping links in the same way we do for Amazon. This expands the number of retail destinations where creators and publishers can drive revenue for your brand.

Key advantages for brands:

1. Expanded reach and diversification
You are not limited to Amazon. You can capture traffic and conversions from customers who prefer Walmart for pricing, assortment, or loyalty benefits.

2. Incremental revenue opportunities
Some products may perform better on Walmart due to price differences, availability, or customer preference. This allows you to capture incremental sales that may not occur on Amazon.

3. Increased creator and publisher incentives
Creators and publishers can now earn commissions on Walmart purchases, increasing their incentive to promote your products across more placements and retail channels.

Question: Do I need to connect my Walmart account to Wayward for your integration to work?

Answer: No. There is no need to connect your Walmart Seller account to Wayward.

Wayward uses third-party technology to automatically map your Amazon ASINs to corresponding Walmart SKUs where available.

Sales are then tracked through Walmart’s existing affiliate infrastructure, which publishers already participate in. As long as your products are live on Walmart and eligible for the Walmart affiliate program, Wayward can track qualifying sales driven by our network.

Question: Does Wayward use Walmart’s Attribution program or the standard Walmart Affiliate program? Are sales eligible for the 10% seller rebate?

Answer: Wayward uses Walmart’s standard affiliate infrastructure, not Walmart Attribution (also referred to as the Walmart Sales & Rewards or Brand Referral Bonus program). Because of this, sales driven through Wayward’s Walmart integration are not eligible for the 10% seller rebate.

We intentionally operate through Walmart’s existing affiliate program so publishers can use their current integrations without requiring additional setup, technical implementation, or changes to their workflow.

Question: If I open a new Walmart storefront, will Wayward link traffic directly to my store page?

Answer: Wayward does not automatically direct traffic to a specific Walmart storefront.

Publishers have the flexibility to link to either individual product detail pages or to a brand storefront on Walmart. The destination is determined by the publisher’s content strategy.
