How to Connect your Meta Ads account to Wayward Boost

Written by Wayward

To set up your Wayward Boost account, you'll first need to connect your Meta account to Wayward Boost. This takes about 10 minutes and requires admin access to your Meta Business Portfolio.

What you'll need:

  • Admin access to your Meta Business Portfolio

  • A Facebook Page for your brand

  • An existing Meta pixel (strongly recommended)

Wayward Boost Meta Onboarding Demo:

Step 1: Set Up Your Business Portfolio

You'll need a Meta Business Portfolio to share assets with Wayward. Most brands already have one.

If you don't have one yet:

  1. Click Create Account or Create a Business Portfolio

  2. Enter your business name, your name, and business email, then follow the prompts to complete setup

If you have more than one Business Portfolio, make sure you're in the one that owns the Pages, ad accounts, and pixels you want to use with Wayward Boost. Use the portfolio switcher in the top left of Meta Business Settings.

Step 2: Create and Share an Ad Account

Create a dedicated ad account for Wayward Boost. Do not reuse an existing ad account.

  1. Open Accounts → Ad accounts and click + Add → Create a new ad account

  2. Name it something identifiable, for example "Wayward Boost -- [Your Brand]". Set the correct timezone and currency

  3. Under Usage, select My business

  4. Agree to the terms and click Create ad account

  5. On your new ad account, click Assign partner

  6. Paste the Wayward Business ID: 576155670080985

  7. Under Partial access, enable Manage campaigns (ads), then click Save

Once saved, copy your Ad Account ID from the ad account's detail panel under Accounts → Ad accounts and paste it into Wayward Boost.

Step 3: Share Your Facebook Page

Share the Facebook Page Wayward should advertise as. Wayward appears in Meta as Hyphen Affiliate Program.

  1. Open Accounts → Pages and select the Page you want to use

  2. Click Assign partner

  3. Paste the Wayward Business ID: 576155670080985

  4. Under Partial access (business tools only), enable Ads and Insights, then click Save

Once saved, copy your Page ID from under the page name in Accounts → Pages and paste it into Wayward Boost.

Note: Connect your ad account before saving a Page ID.

Step 4: Share Your Pixel (Strongly Recommended)

Sharing an existing pixel with active sales data has been shown to deliver up to 3x better campaign returns versus starting from a cold pixel. Wayward will continue to enrich your pixel by seeding sales data from Amazon, Walmart, and other retail channels over time.

  1. Open Data Sources → Datasets & pixels

  2. Select an existing pixel that already has sales data, or click + Add to create a new one (make sure to check the Add Conversions API box)

  3. Click Assign partner on the pixel

  4. Paste the Wayward Business ID: 576155670080985

  5. Under Full control, enable Manage events dataset, then click Save

Step 5: Review and Complete

Once steps 1 through 4 are done, head back to your Wayward Boost dashboard to review your setup. Wayward will flag anything that still needs attention before your first campaign launches.
