What is Wealth.com's eMoney Integration?

In this article, we’ll show you how you can set up the eMoney integration and what data gets pulled.

What is the Wealth.com eMoney integration?

Wealth.com offers a direct integration with eMoney, a leading interactive financial planning software. Our eMoney integration is designed to reduce the amount of time it takes to create a client profile and build their balance sheet. Instead of manually creating a client and entering their assets, advisors can import them directly from their eMoney account, or link an existing client in Wealth.com to the corresponding eMoney profile. Advisors can access a current view of client assets, allowing them to focus on providing personalized estate planning advice and meet their clients’ long-term goals.

How to Set Up the eMoney integration in Wealth.com

  1. Log into your Wealth.com account

  2. Select your initials in the top right corner

  3. From there, select Integrations

  4. Scroll down to eMoney and you’ll see a Not Connected status, click that button to prompt the connection

  5. Enter your eMoney login information in the pop-up window when it appears

  6. You will then be directed back into the Advisor Dashboard, where you should see the eMoney integration status as Connected

Congrats, you’ve now successfully set up your eMoney integration!

Single Sign-On (SSO) from eMoney to Wealth.com

If you work in eMoney, you can now launch directly into Wealth.com without logging in separately. Once SSO is enabled, your eMoney credentials carry over, so there's no separate email/password to enter on the Wealth.com side.

How to turn on SSO

  1. Log into your eMoney account

  2. Go to Integrations

  3. Find the Wealth.com tile and select Turn On

How this relates to the eMoney data integration

SSO and the eMoney data integration (covered above) are independent of each other. Turning one on does not turn on the other:

  • You can enable SSO in eMoney without ever setting up the OAuth data connection in Wealth.com.

  • You can have the OAuth data connection set up in Wealth.com without ever enabling SSO in eMoney.

In other words, SSO controls login access between the two platforms, while the data integration controls client and asset syncing. If you want both a seamless login experience and synced client data, you'll need to set up each one separately.

Managing Clients and Data with eMoney

How do I import eMoney clients into Wealth.com?

Once your integration is connected, you can pull your eMoney book of business into Wealth.com:

  1. In your Advisor Dashboard, select the drop-down arrow next to Add Client.

  2. Click Add from Integration and select eMoney.

  3. You will see a list of all eMoney clients accessible for import. Search for and select a client to import. Note: Clients are imported one at a time. Bulk or Multi-select import is not yet available

  4. Click Next, then Done.

Note: It may take up to 10 minutes after initial setup for your client list to appear for import.

Wealth.com will import client profile, asset and liability data, and the ownership structure for each asset. From the Advisor Dashboard, click on one of the newly imported clients and select Balance Sheet in the top navigation bar. You should see all of the client’s asset and liability data, organized by the ownership structure that was set up in eMoney.

How do I link an existing Wealth.com client to eMoney?

If a client already exists in Wealth.com, you can link them to their eMoney profile to sync assets:

  1. Select the client from your dashboard.

  2. Navigate to their Balance Sheet in the left side panel.

  3. Select Create at the top of the screen.

  4. Under "Select to automatically pull assets," click Connect with eMoney.

What Data is Included in This Integration?

To sync data in real-time, just click a refresh data button on the Balance Sheet to grab the latest values from eMoney. eMoney pulls the below account data into Wealth.com:

Data Security

The eMoney integration uses OAuth2, a trusted authorization method commonly used by financial institutions, to ensure secure access without exposing user credentials. Data is also encrypted during transfer (TLS 1.2), keeping client information safe as it moves between eMoney and Wealth.com.

How to Disconnect This Integration

  1. Log into your Wealth.com account

  2. Select your initials in the top right corner

  3. From there, select Integrations

  4. Scroll down to eMoney and you’ll see a Connected status, click that button to disconnect

  5. Confirm this action when a pop-up window appears asking you to authorize

Maintaining Control Over Synced Data

  • eMoney is an on-demand integration. Data updates when you import a client and when you click Refresh on their Balance Sheet. It does not update automatically overnight.

  • If a synced record is created in eMoney, a corresponding record will be created in Wealth.

  • If a synced record is updated in eMoney, the corresponding record will be updated in Wealth.

  • If a synced record is deleted in eMoney, a message will be displayed on the corresponding Wealth record indicating that the source record has been deleted and that it is safe to delete in Wealth.

  • If a field on a synced record in Wealth has been manually edited by an advisor, that edit will be preserved. The nightly sync will not overwrite the manual change unless the corresponding field in eMoney has also changed since the last successful sync.

  • Advisors can unlink an asset from the eMoney sync if they wish to manage it manually within Wealth.com. They will also have the ability to relink it.
