The line item “Undistributed Assets” displays in the following scenarios:
An asset is owned individually, but there is no beneficiary designation on the asset or no Will (or Pour-Over Will) Card exists.
A Trust or Will Card exists, but asset cannot be fully distributed because:
Beneficiaries are missing or partially recorded in the Card
Share Amount is not provided for the Residuary Estate distribution for a beneficiary of trust assets in the corresponding Data Card
The client has a Revocable Trust, but the Pour Over Will is missing or not linked to the associated Revocable Trust
To resolve an incomplete Trust or Will Card:
Navigate to the EstateFlow tab if you’re not there already and select “View Configuration Warnings”. This page will identify Utilize the “View Configuration Warnings” button in EstateFlow to identify missing information in the Data Cards including trust or will creators, beneficiary details, or other configuration issues that may exclude assets or the trust document from distributions.
From the Missing Information tab, review which Data Cards are listed. Selecting “Fix Errors” will open up the corresponding Card, and you are able to review the missing information from the Card directly.
Verify Data Card Details:
Ensure the Trust or Will Creator is set.
Confirm that the “Upon Trust Creator’s Death” and “First Death” sub-trusts have remainder beneficiaries and share amounts entered.
Use Configuration Warnings:
Utilize the “View Configuration Warnings” button in EstateFlow to identify missing information in the Data Cards including trust or will creators, beneficiary details, or other configuration issues that may exclude assets or the trust document from distributions.
