If you have designated a family member as Excluded in your workflow, the platform will prevent you from selecting them as a recipient for specific gifts (you will see a Wealthcheck to this extent in the workflow when attempting to do so).
Marking someone as an Excluded Family Member means they are intentionally being omitted from the entirety of the estate- including any gifts. To prevent accidental contradictions, the system locks these individuals out of the Recipients list.
To leave a gift to someone currently on your excluded list, you must first "Delete" them from that section.
Once the individual is removed from the excluded list, return to the Gifts and Recipients section. You will now be able to select their name as a recipient for any gifts.
Note: Removing someone from the excluded list does not automatically give them a share of your estate; it simply makes them eligible to receive the specific gifts you choose to give them.
