Can a client download their estate plan as an editable document?

Yes. If a client is working with Wealth.com's Attorney Network, they can request an editable Word version (.DOCX) of their plan in-app. Wealth.com matches them with a vetted attorney who drafts the custom language directly into the document. The client then signs one clean, unified set of documents. No amendments. No codicils. No back-and-forth.

How it Works

  1. After drafting a document(s), client selects Consult an Attorney from their Help Center.

  2. Clients can export their finished estate document as a Word (.DOCX) file from their Vault. Clients will be prompted to acknowledge a disclaimer on what downloading as this file type means, reminding them that this option is recommended to share with a qualified attorney for professional review and customization purposes only.

  3. Clients can share the Word file of their document(s) with the Wealth.com network attorney for them to make edits as needed in one clean document.

DOCX is particularly well-suited for:

  • Tailored distribution plans: Clients with waterfall or milestone-based distributions, such as staged access at specific ages or trustee guidance tied to a home purchase or business venture.

  • Special family situations: Plans that require a specific allocation the standard builder doesn't support, like directing a child's share into an existing Special Needs Trust.

  • Repeatable advisor standards: If you work with advisors who use the same preferred language across all client plans, DOCX lets you apply those provisions consistently, client after client.
