When I assign a deadline for clients to complete their estate planning documents, what email notification reminders do they receive?

Learn how to set custom completion deadlines for your clients and understand the automated email reminder schedule they will receive.

When you create a profile and invite your client to wealth.com, you can assign a custom deadline for them to complete their estate planning documents. This helps keep your clients on track and ensures their estate plans are finalized in a timely manner.

How Automated Email Reminders to Clients Work

Once a deadline is set, Wealth.com automatically sends friendly email reminders to your client encouraging them to finish their documents.

All reminder emails are sent from Wealth.com Notifications (learn@news.wealth.com) at the following intervals leading up to the due date:

  • 45 days out from deadline

  • 30 days out from deadline

  • 14 days out from deadline

  • 7 days out from deadline

  • 3 days out from deadline

  • 1 day out from deadline

Extending or Updating Deadlines

Document Creation Deadlines are editable straight from your main client dashboard table. Below are the steps on how to update the deadlines

1) Find the client's row within your dashboard

2) Click the date in the Document Creation Deadline column

If you don't see the column, check your column-visibility settings on the dashboard first, it can be hidden. If the date is greyed out, that's because your client has already started a document.

3) Input the new date and select Apply

Turning Off Reminders

If a client completes at least one estate planning document before their assigned deadline, they will not receive any future email notifications related to your deadline.

If you or your client wishes to turn off email reminders, the advisor must remove the deadline associated with the client from their Dashboard.

Document Creation Deadlines are editable straight from your main client dashboard table. Below are the steps on how to remove the deadlines:

1) Find the client's row within your dashboard

2) Click the date in the Document Creation Deadline column

If you don't see the column, check your column-visibility settings on the dashboard first, it can be hidden. If the date is greyed out, that's because your client has already started a document.

3) Either select "Remove Deadline" in the date picker or delete the date, and confirm.

Note: You can opt in, change, or remove a deadline at any time. The deadline only drives the reminder emails, nothing locks or expires when it passes. The clients will still have access to their portal to finish and complete their necessary planning documents.
