Understanding Reports: What Slides Are Available & How to Customize Information

This article walks through what slides are available, and what you can edit on every slide type.

Starting a Report

Go to the Reports page and either open an existing report or choose a template to start a new one. Templates define the report's overall structure, including which slides are included, the report type, and what client data it draws on.

Available Templates

There are two different templates that you can choose from depending on your license type.

  • Estate Snapshot: This template will provide a streamlined visualization of the client's current estate, including flowchart diagrams at the document-level, an overview of decision makers across documents, and the family tree.

  • Estate Analysis: This templates includes the slides from the Estate Snapshot template, plus additional content that includes financial and disposition details. This template is available only for those who have the Family Office Suite license.

A note on editing patterns you'll see repeatedly

When you select a slide, the editing panel on the right automatically shows the pieces on that slide. For each piece, you can typically:

  • Show or hide it using a visibility toggle.

  • Reorder it by dragging it up or down.

  • Edit its text by clicking into it (titles, descriptions, labels).

Also, every slide except the Cover Slide has its own Footer field, where you can add or edit disclosure or disclaimer text specific to that slide.

Available Slides & Editing Content

Core slides

Cover Slide

The introductory page of the report.

  • Report Title and Client Name — edit directly in the heading.

  • Hero Graphic — choose a style ("Halftone Sphere") or turn it off ("None").

  • Disclaimer — edit the disclaimer text shown on the cover.

  • Note: the Cover Slide is the one slide without a Footer field.

Table of Contents

Automatically generated based on the slides selected to include in the report.

  • Nothing to edit here directly — add, remove, or reorder slides elsewhere in the report and this slide updates on its own.

  • You can only add one Table of Contents per report.

Family Tree

An AI-assisted family tree built from entering a short description.

  • Use the text box to describe changes (for example, "Add a sibling, their spouse, and any children") and the AI will regenerate the family tree.

  • You can also paste in your own content to override the generated version.

  • You can add more than one version of the Family Tree per report.

Key People: Decision Makers

A table of roles and the people assigned to them across trusts, wills, and other legal documents.

  • Open the table editor to edit role and person names, change section and cell icons, and reorder rows or sections.

  • You can only add one per report.

Vault Summary

A checklist-style summary of documents stored to the Vault based on category.

  • This slide is display-only; it reflects the current status of documents in the Vault and cannot be edited.

  • You can only add one per report.

Entity Structure Chart

A visual chart of entity ownership across the household.

  • This slide is generated automatically based on ownership applied to Entity Cards.

  • You can edit the flowchart directly from the report.

  • You can only add one per report.

Custom Template

A blank canvas for custom content.

  • Add, remove, and reorder Section Cards, each with an editable title and rich-text body.

  • Alternatively, choose the "Custom Flowchart" version for an editable flowchart canvas instead of cards.

  • You can add as many of these as you need.

Estate Overview

A consolidated, narrative-style overview of the client's full estate plan, generated with AI.

  • Edit Summary — update the family name, heading, eyebrow text, monogram, accent color, and summary paragraph.

  • Edit Flowchart — opens a flowchart editor for the visual estate map.

  • Edit Recipients — add or remove recipient cards, each with a title, description, and colored badge.

  • An AI prompt box lets you request changes in plain language.

  • You can add more than one of these to a report.

  • Don't confuse this with "Estimated Estate Overview" below — they're different slides with similar names.

Estate Planning Document Slides

Flowchart & Executive Summary

An AI-generated flowchart showing how a client's estate planning document distributes assets. Toggle the layout between "Flowchart Only" and "Flowchart + Executive Summary." The Executive Summary is an AI-generated written summary of the estate planning document.

  • Toggle the layout between "Flowchart Only" and "Flowchart + Executive Summary."

  • Edit cover details — update the "At a Glance" facts and the Key People table.

  • Edit Flowchart — opens a flowchart editor for the flowchart of the estate plan.

  • You can add one of these per estate planning document.

Financial Slides

Estimated Estate Overview

Breaks the estate into what's inside vs. outside the taxable estate, with federal and state estate tax calculations included.

  • Show, hide, and reorder Containers and Exemption Cards.

  • Edit the name of each exemption card.

  • Values themselves come from the client's balance sheet — use the Balance Sheet link on the slide to update the underlying assets and liabilities.

Estate Summary

A more detailed, entity-level breakdown of what's inside vs. outside the taxable estate.

  • Show, hide, and reorder the rows.

  • Values come from the client's balance sheet — use the Balance Sheet link on the slide to update the source data.

Balance Sheet Overview

A high-level, category-based summary of each owner's share of the estate.

  • This slide is display-only. Use the Balance Sheet link on the slide to update the underlying data.

Balance Sheet Breakdown

A detailed, per-asset view of holdings within each category.

  • This slide is display-only. Use the Balance Sheet link on the slide to update the underlying data.

Note: Financial slides are exclusive to advisors with Family Office Suite licenses.

Distribution slides

Distribution Summary

Shows how the estate is distributed to people, trusts, and charities.

  • For each table (People, Trusts, Charities), add, hide, and reorder sections and rows.

  • Edit individual row values directly in the table editor.

Estate Flow Detailed

A step-by-step visualization of how the estate flows through tiers, taxes, and to beneficiaries for a specific scenario.

  • This slide is computed automatically. From Reports, you can edit information on the slide by opening the flowchart editor.

  • For married clients, you can include two slides showing what happens if spouse 1 predeceases spouse 2, or vice versa.

Estate Flow (Simplified)

A single-page view of gross estate, taxes, and net distribution to beneficiaries.

  • This slide is computed automatically. From Reports, you can edit information on the slide by opening the flowchart editor.

Scenario Strategy

Visualizes a proposed trust or strategy from a planning scenario.

  • Editing works the same way as Trust Summary — the slide's cards can be shown, hidden, and reordered through the editing panel.

Note: Distribution slides are exclusive to advisors with Family Office Suite licenses.

Calculator slides

Each calculator slide has its own set of input fields, which you edit directly on the slide to recalculate the results shown.

GRAT Calculator

Initial Principal, Applicable Valuation Discount, Annual Growth of Principal, Income Earned by Trust, Transfer Date, IRC §7520 Rate (auto-filled or manually overridden), Apply Optimization toggle, Percent Payout, Term (Years), Number of Payments, and an optional Vary Annuity Payments toggle with a Growth of Annuity Payments rate.

CLAT Calculator

Initial Trust Funding, Annual Growth of Trust, Transfer Date, IRC §7520 Rate, Apply Optimization toggle, Percent Payout, Term (Years), and an optional Vary Annuity Payments toggle with a growth rate.

QPRT Calculator

Trust Funding (fair market value of the residence), Annual Growth of Trust, Federal & State Death Tax Bracket, Transfer Date, IRC §7520 Rate, Term (Years), and the Grantor's Current Age.

State Estate Tax Calculator

State, Date of Death, Gross Taxable Estate, Adjusted Taxable Gifts, QTIP Adjustment, Charitable Bequests, Marital Deduction, State Adjustment, Out-of-State Property, Other Deductions, and (for Connecticut) the Gift/Estate Tax Exemption Used and Restored/DSUE Amount.

Note: Calculator slides are exclusive to advisors with Family Office Suite licenses.

Educational Slides

These slides are non-editable educational slides to explain estate planning concepts to clients:

  • Understanding a CRAT, CRUT, GRAT, QPRT, Dynasty Trust, ILIT, SLAT, Revocable Trust, Will, Financial Power of Attorney, or Healthcare Directive

  • Differences Between a Will and a Revocable Trust

  • State Estate Tax Planning

  • Glossary

For all of these, you can edit the title and body text directly on the slide, the same as any heading and text block elsewhere in the builder.

Disclaimers

Shows your firm's own disclaimer copy alongside a client header.

  • The text comes from your firm's configured disclaimer content. If your firm hasn't set this up, this slide won't be available to add.

  • You can only add one per report.

Tips

  • Not sure which "Overview" slide you added? "Estate Overview" is the AI-written narrative summary; "Estimated Estate Overview" is the inside/outside taxable estate breakdown with exemption cards. Check the slide title in the Table of Contents if you're unsure.

  • Can't find an edit option for a chart or table? Most charts and computed tables reflect live client data. Update the client's balance sheet, contacts, or scenario inputs, and the slide will update automatically (or use the Balance Sheet / source document link right on the slide to jump straight there).

  • Want to change values on Balance Sheet slides? These slides pull directly from the client's balance sheet — edit the balance sheet itself rather than the slide.
