How do I restate or make changes to an existing trust using the Wealth.com workflow?

This article explains how to update an existing revocable trust by through a restatement, whether the original document was created outside of Wealth.com or previously within the platform.

If you have an existing revocable trust, you can "restate" it on Wealth.com. A restatement allows you to keep your original trust name and date while adopting the Wealth.com legal form and updating your terms (such as beneficiaries or trustees).

Note: You can upload existing documents to the Vault for storage, but you cannot edit an uploaded PDF. To make changes to your Revocable Trust, you must use the Wealth.com document workflow to create a restatement.

Steps to Restate an Existing Trust Created Outside Wealth.com:

  1. Go to the Document Center in the top navigation bar.

  2. Locate the document type you wish to restate (Individual or Joint Revocable Trust).

    • Note: If you don't see it, click View All Documents on the right side of the page to see the full library of available documents.

  3. Click Start (for Joint Trusts) or click your Name (for Individual Trusts).

  4. When asked "Do you want to Create a New Trust or Restate a Trust?", select Restate a Trust.

  5. Follow the prompts to enter your original trust details and complete your updates.


Steps to Restate a Trust Created with Wealth.com:

Use these steps if you previously created a trust on Wealth.com and now wish to make changes:

  1. Go to the Document Center in the top navigation bar.

  2. Under My Documents, find your Trust. It will be marked as Completed.

  3. Click the Completed button and from the dropdown list select Edit.

  4. This will put you back into the Trust workflow at the Review Summary.

  5. Click ‘Make Changes’ from the Overview section-this will take you to the beginning of the Trust creation.

  6. Change your response from ‘Create a New Trust’ to ‘Restate a Trust’

  7. From here, you will click Next through the prompts to start the restatement process and continue making your updates.

  8. To finish: Either click Next through the workflow to review all sections or use the left-hand navigation to jump to the Review page to receive your updated document.

  9. Click the three dots (...) next to the document and select Edit.
