When a KYC is under the ‘failed’ status, it will happen during the account creation, therefore, the account will remain under the ‘pending’ status until it has passed the KYC.

If an account is 'active' it’s fair to assume that the KYC has passed and in case it fails the account will be moved into the 'suspended' status.
