When an existing Prospect sends in a new Internet lead it will either attach to the existing prospect record as an Email Received, or create a new Prospect record.

The matching criteria is the email address of the Prospect on the lead and in the Prospect record.

If an existing Prospect submits a new Internet lead and the email address for the prospect is the same as what is within the existing prospect, the lead will match with the existing record.

The Prospect will reflect within the New Prospect listing screen with a Prospect Matched icon.

Within the Prospect record, the new lead will reflect as an Email Received.

Once the email has been read, or read and marked as unread, the usual icons will continue to display.

The Prospect Matched icon only applies to instances where the system automatically detects that the Prospect exists and adds the second lead as an e-mail to the existing lead. It does not apply to cases where two Prospects have been manually merged.

If an existing Prospect submits a new Internet lead and the email address for the prospect in the lead IS NOT what is within the existing Prospect record, the lead will create a new Prospect record.

Manager Users in Web Control can merge the two prospects if the prospects are in the accounts of two different salespeople.
