Why Does it Matter?
webCRM connects to Outlook / Exchange so users can keep their email, calendar and contacts in sync. That connection used to rely on an older technology called Exchange Web Services (EWS), which Microsoft is phasing out. As a result, webCRM has moved to Microsoft Graph to ensure the integration continues to function properly.
This article explains how to connect your Microsoft Exchange/Outlook integration to Microsoft Graph.
Before You Begin
1. Reach out to customer service to enable the migration to Microsoft Graph. You can easily contact customer service inside the webCRM application:
2. You will need an Outlook / Microsoft 365 account to connect.
3. You will need an Exchange Administrator to approve the permissions required. Please note that you will only need to do this once.
Step-by-Step Guide
1. Sign out of the account
Open the 'External Credentials Settings' tab and sign out of the account currently in use.
2. Clean the cache and refresh the page after customer service enables migration
This will ensure that the migration is possible and effective. You can clean the cache and refresh the page directly inside the webCRM application:
3. Reconnect Exchange and request permission
Open the 'External Credentials Settings' tab, choose Exchange and sign in. You will be redirected to a Microsoft window asking you to approve a set of permissions. Please enter a justification and send the request for approval.
4. Administrator approves access
After the request has been sent, the account's Exchange administrator will need to approve access for the user. Managed in Microsoft Azure, these are the permissions that need to be approved:
Now you should be all set! If you encounter any obstacles along the way, feel free to reach out to customer service. We will be happy to assist you.
