Introduction

A Person belongs to an Organisation in webCRM. You can have as many Person records related to an Organisation as you need.

In the B2B version of webCRM you must have at least an Organisation record – Person records are optional.

If your system is B2C then a Person is the main entity on your records and all other module data links to the Person records in your system.

B2C version

If your Customers are private individuals (non corporate), you should consider using the B2C (business to consumer) version of webCRM where the Person record is prominent. If you work mostly with Organisations then choose the B2B version (business to business) where the Organisation record is prominent and optionally has contacts linked to it. If you have a mix of both organisations and private individuals, then you should most likely choose the B2B version, and add the private individual’s name as the Organisation name – it is not possible to have a blank Organisation name.

It is possible to create private individuals against one ‘holding’ Organisation record, for example if you only store Contact name and Email address with subscription preferences. However, no Organisation fields can be populated against individuals using this method.

The Person records stored in your system can represent all the people you currently have a relationship with, as well as those that you would like to have a relationship with (ie Prospects) and of course, those with whom you previously had a Relationship. These could be lapsed Customers for example.

Use the Person record to track details of the Person’s contact details, demographic information, interests, communication and mailing preferences.
