Connect Brevo to your WeInc site and every form entry saves the visitor as a contact in Brevo.
What it does
For every entry with an email address, WeInc creates the contact in Brevo, or updates it if that email already exists. First and last name are saved as FIRSTNAME and LASTNAME when the form has them.
If the visitor ticked a marketing opt-in box, WeInc adds them to the list you choose.
If they did not opt in and you set up double opt-in (see below), Brevo emails them a confirmation link. They join your list only after they click it.
If they did not opt in and you did not set up double opt-in, they are saved as a contact only and are not added to the list.
This applies to every form on the site.
Who goes on your list
WeInc only adds someone to a marketing list if they ticked a marketing opt-in box on your form. WeInc counts a box as an opt-in when it is ticked and its field name mentions things like consent, subscribe, newsletter, marketing, opt-in, mailing list or email updates. A box like "I agree to the terms" does not count. If your form has no such box, ask the AI in the builder to add a newsletter opt-in checkbox to it.
An entry needs an email field (for example a field named "email"). Entries without an email address are skipped. First and last names are added when the form has fields like "name", "first name" or "last name".
What you need from Brevo
API key: in Brevo, open the menu under your name and choose SMTP & API, then the API keys tab, and click Generate a new API key. It starts with
xkeysib-. Brevo shows it only once, so copy it straight away. Brevo's guide: Create and manage your API keys.List ID: go to Contacts > Lists. Each list shows its ID number. Use the number only.
Double opt-in template ID (optional): the ID number of a Brevo email template set up for double opt-in (it must contain Brevo's confirmation link).
Confirmation redirect URL (optional): the page people land on after they click the confirmation link, for example a thank-you page on your site. It must start with
https://.
Double opt-in only runs when you fill in both the template ID and the redirect URL. If you fill in only one, people who did not opt in are saved as contacts only.
Where to set it up
Form connections live in the builder, in the Analytics panel. Open your project, click the ··· (More panels) button in the top bar and choose Analytics. Scroll to Form submissions. Below it is a section called Send entries to.
The Analytics panel only appears in full once your site is published, so publish first. Only the project owner can add or change these connections.
Connect it
Under Send entries to, open the Add a destination… menu and choose Brevo.
Paste the API key and List ID. Add the Double opt-in template ID and Confirmation redirect URL if you want double opt-in.
Click Save. The connection appears in the list with the On box ticked.
Test it
Click Test next to the connection. WeInc sends a sample entry from "Test Person" (test@example.com). When it works you see Test entry sent. The sample has no opt-in, so without double opt-in it is saved as a contact only; with double opt-in, Brevo tries to send its confirmation email to that test address. Delete the test contact afterwards.
To check the list part, submit a real entry on your live site with the opt-in box ticked, then look for it in your list.
If something goes wrong
Each saved connection has a dot next to its name: blue means the last send worked, red means it failed, grey means it is paused. The last error is shown under the name.
"<field> is required" or "<field> doesn't look right" when saving: a value is missing or not in the expected format. Copy it again, with no extra spaces or characters.
"Access refused (401)" or "(403)": Brevo did not accept the API key. Create a new one and add the connection again.
"Paused: the key was refused three times." If real form entries are refused three times in a row, WeInc pauses the connection so it stops failing. Test sends do not count toward this. Click the bin icon to remove it, then add it again with a new API key.
Other errors (for example "Error 404" or "Error 422"): usually a wrong List ID or template ID. Check it in Brevo, then remove and re-add the connection.
WeInc tries each send twice (one retry after a short pause) and waits up to 8 seconds for Brevo to answer. The entry is always kept in Form submissions either way, so nothing is lost if a send fails.
Saved keys can't be viewed or edited later. To change a value, remove the connection and add it again.
Pause or disconnect
Pause: untick the On box next to the connection. It shows Paused and nothing is sent until you tick it again.
Disconnect: click the bin icon (Remove). WeInc deletes the saved key. Anything already in Brevo stays there.
To fully revoke access, also delete the API key in Brevo.
