If you have a sports device, you're probably wondering:

  • Can I use it to take heart rate variability measurements in Welltory?

  • Can I use it to track my activities, workouts, meditations, sleep, etc. in Welltory?

In this article, you'll find general information about gadgets' compatibility with Welltory and a list of devices most frequently asked about.

Currently, only Apple Watch and Samsung Watch can be used for both HRV measurements and activity tracking in our app.

Activity tracking is also possible with most fitness trackers and smartwatches. If you connect them to Welltory directly (applicable to Welltory Premium users with Fitbit, Garmin, or Withings devices) or via Apple Health, Google Fit, or Samsung Health — we'll get their data about your workouts, meditations, sleep, etc. to provide you with analysis, recommendations, and insights.

But most fitness trackers and smartwatches can't be used for HRV measurements in Welltory. Regretfully, they often either don't track HRV or don't allow their data to be transferred to other apps. See details here.

Sports heart rate monitors can be used for HRV measurements in Welltory if they can:

  • record raw RR-intervals

  • send this data to Welltory via Bluetooth 4.0 (we don't support the ANT+ protocol)

Those that only track heart rate rather than HRV or only use ANT+ to transfer data, unfortunately, are not fit for HRV measurements in Welltory. And sports heart rate monitors usually don't track your activities.

Find your device in the table below to see what it's fit for.

If your fitness tracker or smartwatch is not on our list:

  • Try to connect it to Apple Health, Google Fit, or Samsung Health. If its data can be transferred to one of these aggregators, Welltory will also be able to access and analyze it. But don't forget to connect the aggregator to Welltory.

If your HR monitor is not on our list:

  • Check that it can measure heart rate variability and supports the Bluetooth protocol to transfer data.

  • Try to connect it to Welltory (Menu → Settings → Measurement Device) and start taking a measurement. If your HR monitor is not compatible, the measurement will be interrupted with an error. If it is compatible, your measurement will be successful.
