What does "Backordered" mean?

When a product on the WestCoast Products (WCP) website is labeled as Backordered, it indicates two specific conditions:

  • Active Ordering: We are still accepting orders for this product to allow customers to reserve their place in line.

  • Out of Stock: We do not currently have physical stock of this item on hand at our warehouse.

What happens when you purchase a Backordered item?

Purchasing a backordered item acts as a reservation. By placing the order, you secure your place in the shipping queue.

  • Shipping Priority: Orders are fulfilled in the order they were received (First-In, First-Out).

  • Fulfillment Process: Your order will ship as soon as we receive the inventory from our suppliers and process it through our warehouse.

  • Notification: You will receive a shipping confirmation email with tracking information once the backordered item leaves our facility.

How Backorders Affect Your Shipping

If your order contains a mix of in-stock and backordered items, please note the following:

  • Domestic (US) Orders: We typically provide a partial shipment by default. This means we will ship your in-stock items immediately and send the backordered items in a second shipment at a later date.

  • International Orders: We do not provide partial shipments for international orders by default. Your entire order will be held until the backordered item is back in stock to avoid multiple import fees.

Can I cancel a Backordered item?

Yes. You may cancel any backordered item for a full refund, provided the item has not yet been processed for fulfillment or shipped. Please contact our support team to request a cancellation.
