Understanding Backordered Items

If something you want is backordered, you can still order it — here's what that means for your shipment.

What does "Backordered" mean?

A backordered item is temporarily out of stock at our warehouse, but we're still accepting orders so you can reserve your place in line. We're actively working to restock it, and your order will ship as soon as inventory arrives and is processed.

When will my order ship?

We fulfill orders first-in, first-out, so the sooner you order, the sooner you'll ship when stock arrives. As soon as your order goes out the door, you'll get a shipping confirmation email with tracking information.

We don't always have a precise restock date to share, but you can check our Stock Status page for the latest updates. If you need more detail on a specific item, reach out to us and we'll give you the best estimate we have.

Orders with a mix of in-stock and backordered items

If your order includes both in-stock and backordered items, here's how we handle it:

For US orders, we default to two shipments so you're not waiting on everything:

  • Your in-stock items ship right away using the shipping service you selected at checkout.

  • Your backordered items ship together in a second shipment once everything is back in stock, at no extra cost to you. We'll use the most affordable shipping option for that one.

  • Need the second shipment faster? Contact us and we can arrange an upgrade.

For international orders, we hold the full order until all items are in stock before shipping. This avoids multiple rounds of import fees and customs processing on your end.

Can I cancel a backordered item?

Yes! You can cancel any backordered item for a full refund, as long as it hasn't shipped yet. Just email our support team and we'll take care of it.

We know waiting on a backorder isn't fun, and we never want you to feel stuck. If your plans change, just let us know.
