A key part of performance management and appraisals, is gathering feedback from others - either about ourselves or, if we're managers, our team members. Feedback from colleagues can help us understand how well an individual works with others, their strengths, where there are opportunities for improvement etc.
Below are some ideas and prompts you can use when asking for feedback from others, either about yourself or other team members. These are a starting point - they can be modified depending on the type of feedback you're looking for...
Requesting feedback about yourself:
Can you share what you think I do well and if there's anything you think I should stop doing?
What can I improve on in the future?
What skills do you feel I'm excelling at and are there any new skills you think I could develop?
Are there any tasks I could take on in the coming months to hone my skills or develop new ones?
Please share how well you think I communicate and interact with other team members.
