Why it matters

Duplicating agents helps you reuse configurations, instructions, and settings without starting from scratch. Deleting agents keeps your workspace organized and prevents outdated or unused configurations from causing confusion. Understanding both actions ensures you manage agents cleanly and safely across all communication modes, including messaging and calls.

Key Concepts

Duplicate agent: Creates a copy of an existing agent, including its instructions, settings, tools, and configurations.

Destination organization: The workspace where the duplicated agent will be created.

Delete agent: Permanently removes an agent and all associated configuration.

Irreversible action: Deleted agents cannot be recovered.

Step-by-Step: Duplicate an AI Agent

  1. Open the agent you want to duplicate.

  2. Click Duplicate in the top-right corner.

  3. Review the confirmation modal.

  4. Select the organization where the duplicated agent should be created.

  5. Click Yes, duplicate agent.

  6. Open the duplicated agent and update its name, instructions, or settings as needed.

Step-by-Step: Delete an AI Agent

  1. Open the agent you want to delete.

  2. Click Delete in the top-right corner.

  3. Review the deletion confirmation modal.

  4. Click Delete agent to permanently remove it.

  5. Verify that the agent no longer appears in the Agents list.

Tips and Best Practices

  • Duplicate agents when testing major updates so you can compare changes without overwriting the original.

  • Rename duplicated agents immediately to avoid confusion between versions.

  • Avoid deleting agents currently assigned to phone channels or messaging workflows.

  • Review call or chat history before deletion to confirm that no past analytics or transcripts are needed.

  • Use deletion sparingly, especially in shared environments where multiple team members manage agents.
