Why it matters
Preferences are user-specific settings that help Whippy match the way each person works. Updating preferences can make the interface easier to read, keep message composition predictable, and set a default channel for faster inbox workflows.
Key Concepts
Theme: The visual mode used by your Whippy account, such as light or dark appearance.
Accent color: The interface highlight color used for your account.
Text size: The size of text shown in the Whippy interface for your account.
Preferred channel: The default channel Whippy uses when you start certain new messaging workflows.
Enter to send: A message editor setting that controls whether pressing Enter sends the message or creates a new line.
Step-by-Step: Update your preferences
Open Settings from the sidebar.
Select Preferences.
Choose the Theme you want to use.
Choose an Accent color for your interface.
Select the Text size that is easiest for you to read.
Choose a Preferred channel if you regularly send from the same channel.
Turn Enter to send on if pressing Enter should send messages.
Turn Enter to send off if pressing Enter should create a new line in the message editor.
Open Profile settings instead when you need to manage two-factor authentication.
Tips and Best Practices
Use a larger text size if you spend long periods in Whippy or need better readability.
Choose a preferred channel when you usually send messages from one number or inbox.
Turn off Enter to send if you often write multi-line replies.
Use Shift and Enter for a line break when Enter to send is enabled.
Language may not appear for all workspaces because it is not currently available as a standard preference.
Troubleshooting
Issue | Possible Cause | Fix |
The wrong channel is selected when composing | No preferred channel is set or the selected channel is no longer available | Return to Settings > Preferences and select a current channel you can access |
Pressing Enter sends messages unexpectedly | Enter to send is enabled | Turn Enter to send off, or use Shift and Enter when you need a line break |
Two-factor authentication is not visible in Preferences | Two-factor authentication is managed from Profile settings | Open Settings > Profile and use the Two-factor Authentication card |
Language settings are not visible | Language preferences are not currently exposed for all users | Use the available appearance and inbox settings, or contact support if language access is required |
