Whizzimo is organized into four key components: courses, workbooks, activities, and lesson plans. Each plays a unique role in helping you manage and deliver your curriculum effectively.

Courses

A course is the top level of organization. It houses all the content for your curriculum and can be labeled in a way that suits your needs. For example, you might name a course after a student or a topic, such as Vowels 2.5 or Sarah's Sight Words. After creating a course, you can add workbooks and lesson plans to it.

Workbooks

A workbook is where your word lists are stored. You can use Whizzimo's premade word lists or create your own. Once your course structure is ready, you can add one or more workbooks to your courses. You can edit or update the words in your workbooks at any time.

Activities

Activities are how you and your students interact with the program. Whizzimo offers 14 activities, which are consistent across all workbooks. These include:

  • Tileboard (formerly called the Blackboard)

  • Workbook Tiles

  • Mini Tile Board

  • Wordcards

  • Timed Reading

  • Flashcards

  • Lettercards

  • Sentence Parts

  • Sentences

  • Passages

  • Spelling

  • Whiteboard

  • Blank Tiles

  • PDF Viewer

Lesson Plans

Lesson plans let you create an automatic flow for your content. You can preselect the course, workbook, and activities you'd like to use in a specific order. These plans are customizable, and you can modify them at any time to meet your needs.

By understanding these four components, you’ll be able to structure your teaching materials in Whizzimo efficiently and effectively.
