Working with Tiles in Barton Lessons

Learn how to use Whizzimo's tiles for interactive Barton lessons.

Whizzimo provides all the tiles you need to follow your Barton materials seamlessly. Each part of the lesson is pre-built to match the lesson flow, making it easy to stay on track.

Tiles

All the tiles you need for your lesson will be displayed. Use the white space below to interact with tiles.

Click on a tile and drag it into the white space to spell words or illustrate a point.

  • Arrange tiles as needed to reinforce your lesson concepts.

  • Tiles are used in the Review, Warmup, New Teaching, and Spelling with Tiles parts of the lesson.

ℹ️ Check out our Blending Board for an alternative way to use tiles! This is especially helpful for students with limited mouse skills.

Prebuilt Words

All real and nonsense words for your lessons are prebuilt and ready to use.

Use the gray arrows to move through the word list.

  • Go forward or backward as needed to revisit words.

  • Prebuilt words are used in the Read Words on Tiles and New Teaching parts of the lessons.

💡Make sure you select the correct part of the lesson to see the right content!

Toolbar Features

The toolbar includes several helpful icons to enhance your teaching experience. Hover over an icon in the toolbar to see its name:

  • Marker: Draw on the page to underline, circle, or highlight key points.

  • Eraser: Remove any markings from the page.

  • Pointer: Use this tool for easy clicking and pointing without writing, typing, or erasing.

  • Tile Bumping: Stack tiles on top of each other.

  • Zoom In/Out: Adjust the size of your tiles for better visibility. You can also use your browser’s zoom feature.

  • Trash Can: Quickly clear everything in the white space with one click.

Whizzimo has all the tiles and words arranged for each lesson for smooth and efficient teaching!
