We've spent hours researching programs that allow for sharing mouse control (often called Remote Control). We found a few options that we are comfortable recommending. Before sharing them, there are a few important things to note. Both options:
Require that the device being used is able to install Chrome web extensions or Android Apps. This may require IT assistance on some school devices.
Lack video and audio, so they must be used alongside a web meeting program such as Google Meet.
Require time to learn and set up properly by both educator and student.
Are not officially supported by Whizzimo, so we cannot provide technical support or assistance aside from this article.
Chrome Remote Desktop (Free) w/ Google Meet
Chrome Remote Desktop is designed for people to access their own computers remotely or to have another person access their computer to provide tech support, but it does work well for screen sharing and remote control for online learning. It does, however, only allow for one-to-one sessions.
Here are a few steps to get you started:
Go to https://remotedesktop.google.com/home and scroll down to install the program on your computer.
On the Chromebook, go to the Google Play Store to install the Chrome Remote Desktop App. This step may require assistance from a school IT person the Chromebook was provided by a school.
Once both devices are set up, open the Chrome Remote Desktop app on your computer, click on "Remote Support", Click on "Generate Code", and share this code with the student.
The student will need to go to https://remotedesktop.google.com/support in the Chrome browser to enter the access code and hit "Connect" on the "Give Support" card.
Approve the student by clicking "Share". The student now has shared remote control with you.
When the session is over, open the Remote Desktop App and hit "Stop Sharing".
Splashtop Classroom ($29.99-$99.99/yr)
Splashtop Classroom is designed to enable connections for up to 40 students simultaneously. It is a part of a larger suite of products, but Splashtop Classroom makes it easy for students to join sessions by providing a code to enter meetings.

Visit https://www.splashtop.com/splashtop-classroom-how-it-works-teachers for instructions on installing and setting up your teacher application.
Visit https://www.splashtop.com/splashtop-classroom-how-it-works-students for instructions to share with students and their families.
When you initiate a session, you will receive a code to share with one or more teachers. Once the students are in the session, you easily give them shared control by selecting the button next to their names.
Feel free to try both programs to see which one is the best fit for you and your students. The one caution, again, is that learning and setup may take some time, so please practice multiple times with the option you choose before trying to use it with students during a live teaching or tutoring session.
