How to add apps

Think of an app as a building block for your business. These modular tools allow you to host your offer on Whop - from courses to community

Updated this week

Apps let you host your offer on Whop!

Whop's apps are templates for the different experiences you can host in your whop, from courses to chats, forum threads to calendar bookings. If there isn't already an app for what you're trying to host, you can have a developer build your own!

With apps, you can create and run a business/organization entirely through Whop apps - no external website, software, or hosting additional platform needed!

How to add an app to your whop

  1. Go into your whop (the specific offer you want to build)

  2. You'll see different categories of experiences you can offer your members

    1. Home - Post forum posts, announcements, newsletters, and more here

    2. Chat - Let your users talk to each other

    3. Earn - Run a Content Reward or Bounty and let your members earn money

    4. Learn - Host courses, upload files, or build out a rich-text document right in your whop

    5. Calendar - Add a calendar of events and send members event reminders

    6. Play - Add a daily prize wheel (whop pays for the prizes!) or, for sports whops, host games to guess the score of sports games

    7. Tools - Sell access to your software, embed a website, gate a web app, or build your own whop app

    8. Integrations - Connect Discord, Telegram, and/or TradingView access

  3. Click the Add app button

  4. Select the app you want to add

  5. Customize your app

    1. Name the app

    2. Set visibility (optional) - make the app free to access, or lock it for an addition cost to unlock

    3. Set expiration (optional) - set a date and time when the app expires

How to access app settings

If you want to make additional changes to your app once you've added it to your whop:

  1. Go to your app

  2. Hover over the app and click on the gear icon

  3. Edit your app settings - you can:

    1. Rename the app

    2. Include a description of what members can do with the app - this description will show up on your Store page

    3. Link the app between other whops inside the same organization

    4. Change locked/upsell or expiration date settings

    5. Configure screenshot protections - prevent users from being able to take screenshots or screen record your content

    6. Toggle whether or not activity in the whop is visible on Discover

      1. For example, if you have an event app in your whop, you can choose if you want that event to show up on Whop's home/Discover page

    7. Delete your app from your whop

How to configure your app

While app settings let you edit the app itself and how it shows up on Whop, configuring your app lets you manage what goes on inside of the app:

  1. Click on the app you want to configure

  2. Click on Configure [name of app type]

  3. Here you can control detailed settings around how your members will be able to use the app
