Here's what you'll find on this article:

The Keyword Research tool

Getting SEO results takes time and you don't want to spend time optimizing for keywords that have no potential to bring results. The Keyword Research tool help you pick the right keywords for you to target and make sure that you make those decisions backed by data.

Know that the tool gets much more powerful when you start using filters.

Alright, let's dive into it.

Suggestions

The Suggestions will get you keywords you're already ranking for and you should probably be tracking.

These are handpicked by Wincher so that you never miss a ranking keyword. If you're working constantly on new content or optimizing old pages for new keywords, you should come by every now and then to see if there's any new suggestions.

Keep in mind that if you have a new website with no rankings, we won't be able to display any suggestions.

Related Keywords

If you're looking for new keywords for you to target, this is a great place to start. You know the topic but you don't know which keywords are relevant for that topic?

In that case you should add the topic that you want to approach as the seed word. Wincher will get you plenty of ideas so that you can actually target keywords that have potential to drive some results.

You'll get data for each keyword to help you make better decisions.

TIP: The broader you go, the more results you'll get but the more specific you go the more accurate ideas you'll get.

Search Console

Another way of identifying relevant keywords is to connect Wincher with your Search Console account. You'll be able to import keywords from search console and also get additional data like Impressions, Clicks and CTR (Click Through Rate).

TIP: We recommend that you track all these keywords since you're getting some kinds of results for all of them.

Keyword Gap

Our Keyword Gap feature is a powerful tool to help you identify keywords your competitors are ranking for and you're not tracking yet.

It's pretty easy and straight forward to use.

Adding domains

To get the most relevant results you should add relevant players in your industry.

When clicking on the input you will get suggestions of domains we find that are relevant. The first suggestions will be your tracked competitors identified with a label and then you'll get other non tracked competitor suggestions.

If you want, you can also type any domain manually and hit enter.

Analysing the data

Based on the added competitors, Wincher will provide you 2 different charts and one table for you to get a quick comparison between them.

Keyword overlap

By showing the overlap, the Venn diagram can help you identify potential keyword opportunities and potential conflicts, giving you a better understanding of how you compare to added domains.

Direct competitors should have a bigger intersection. You can hover the diagram to see how many keywords are in each intersection.

Share of Voice

Share of Voice is a metric that helps you understand how much attention you're getting from the users that are searching for the keywords. Imagine a festival with different stages with live concerts. The one with most people watching would be the one with most Share of Voice.

The colors on the chart are related to the colors assigned to each competitor on the table where you can see the data distributed for each.

The keyword table

On the keyword table you will be able to see thousands of keywords that your selected competitors are ranking for and you're not tracking. Note that you might be ranking for these keywords as well.

You can select the keywords you want to add to your rank tracker.

Hidden

You can look at Hidden as a blacklist where you can throw keywords to not see them again. You can either bulk select keywords to hide them at once or you can hide the keywords individually.

You can unhide the keywords on the "Hidden" tab.
