What cameras support live streaming?
Live streaming is currently available only on DC2 cameras. Other camera models do not support live streaming at this time.
Do I need to update my app to use live streaming?
Yes. If you plan to live stream through the mobile apps, you must be on the minimum supported versions:
Android: Version 4.91 or later
Apple (iOS): Version 1.62 or later
Both apps are available in the Google Play Store and Apple App Store under WiseEye HuntControl 2.0.
Do I need to update my camera firmware?
Yes. Live streaming requires a firmware update on your DC2 camera.
The required firmware version for live streaming is F903.
Most DC2 cameras are currently running F602, F1T1, EA03, or E602.
How do I update my firmware to F903?
The update process depends on your current firmware version:
If your camera is on F602:
You can request an over-the-air (OTA) update directly from the Remote Control menu in HuntControl.
This will update your camera to F903 and enable live streaming.
If your camera is on firmware older than F602:
You have two options:
Two-step over-the-air update (automated):
Start the first OTA update.
When it completes, the update button will appear again.
Press it a second time to move to F903.
Single manual update:
Download the firmware file using this link: https://wiseeyetech.com/dc2-firmware-update/
Load it onto an SD card and perform a manual update.
How can I check my camera’s firmware version?
You can check your firmware version at any time:
Mobile apps: Tap the down arrow next to the camera name
Web (HuntControl): Open the camera’s Information page
Where can I access live streaming in HuntControl?
Live streaming is available in both the new HuntControl website and the mobile apps.
On desktop:
When logging into HuntControl, you will be asked:
“Would you like to experience the new HuntControl?”
Click Yes to enter the new site.
You will find a Live Stream tab listing all live-stream-capable cameras.
Live stream shortcuts are also available in:
Camera lists
Remote Control menus
On mobile apps:
Go to your Camera List and tap the live stream shortcut next to eligible cameras
Or open the Remote Control menu and select the live stream option
How long does it take for a live stream to start?
Once you press Start Live Stream, it may take up to one minute for the stream to initialize.
Some cameras may connect faster than others
Status messages will appear at the bottom of the screen during initialization
Is there a time limit on live streaming?
Yes. To protect the camera hardware:
Each live stream session is limited to 5 minutes
After a session ends, the camera requires a 1-minute cool-down before starting another live stream
This limit helps prevent overheating and protects internal components.
Can I record live streams?
Currently, HuntControl does not offer built-in live stream recording.
However, you may:
Use your device’s built-in screen recording feature on mobile or desktop
This recording is handled entirely by your device’s operating system, not by HuntControl.
Can I capture still images during a live stream?
At this time, there is no in-app option to capture still images during a live stream.
You may:
Take screenshots using your device’s built-in functionality
As with recording, this is handled by your device, not by HuntControl.
I pressed live stream and it failed. What should I do?
The two most common causes of live stream failures are:
Poor signal strength
Low battery level
Please check the following before retrying:
Signal strength is preferably above 40%
The camera has sufficient battery power
Because these issues are environment-dependent, our support team can typically only help identify possible signal or battery limitations.
What power setup do you recommend for live streaming?
Live streaming requires the camera to be in an always-available mode, which uses significantly more power than standard capture modes.
We strongly recommend:
External battery power, or
One of our solar charger systems
This will provide the most reliable live streaming experience.
How does live streaming affect my data usage?
Live streaming uses approximately 10 MB per minute in HD.
A full 5-minute live stream uses about 50 MB of data
For example:
On a Weekend Warrior plan, this would allow roughly 10 full live stream sessions per month before using your entire data allowance
What is the recommended plan for frequent live streaming?
We recommend the Ranch Plus plan for customers who plan to live stream regularly.
Ranch Plus highlights:
No minimum number of cameras required
$8/month activation per camera
$10 per GB of data used
If you have more than 10 active cameras, activation drops to $6 per camera
Data is billed after usage at the end of the month, so you don’t have to worry about hitting limits mid-stream.
Do I need a special add-on to enable live streaming?
No. There is no additional add-on subscription required for live streaming.
You can:
Use live streaming with data from your existing plan (such as Trophy Hunter), or
Move to Ranch Plus for more flexibility and potentially lower costs if you stream frequently
Summary
Live streaming brings a powerful new way to interact with your DC2 cameras. With the correct app version, firmware update, sufficient signal, and proper power setup, you can enjoy real-time views while managing your data usage in a way that best fits your needs.
If you experience issues, start by checking firmware, signal strength, battery, and data availability.
