When you are using the custom domain publishing option to publish your landing page to your custom domain, you must make sure to point your subdomain to tls.wishpond.com from your DNS settings. Here are the steps to be followed:

  1. First from Wishpond landing page editor, enter your domain or root domain name (and optionally a subfolder/path name)

NOTE: A common mistake that many users make is failing to understand the difference between root domain and subdomain. The root domain would be your main domain, which would be "Yourwebsite.com" in this case. And anything like www .yourwebsite.com, subdomain.yourwebsite.com would be subdomains of your root domain.

2. Login to your web host settings and link your domain. If you are not sure how to access this, you would need to ask your hosting provider about this.

  • First, login to your web host settings and access the DNS settings (or something similar) from your hosting account. (Ex: Godaddy, Hostgator, Hostinger, Bluehost). If you are not sure how to access DNS settings, you would need to ask your hosting provider.

  • Add a new CNAME record with your chosen subdomain as your host name (Ex: www, contest, giveaway, etc) This will be what is typed before your domain, for example 'contest.yourdomain.com' where 'contest' is the subdomain.

  • Change the value column by pointing the value to "tls.wishpond.com" (TTL 1 Hour).

NOTE: "contest" is a subdomain that was used as an example, but any other subdomain names can be used (giveaway.yourdomain.com, www .yourdomain.com). Make sure there are no duplicating records with the same name. You will encounter an error saving the record if there are duplicates.

3. Now you just need to wait a bit. This can take anywhere from a few minutes to a few hours, depending on your host. But please note that DNS propagation might take up to 48 hours.

4. Back in our Wishpond dashboard, click on PUBLISH. Again, the domain name "subdomain.yourwebsite.com" is just an example of a subdomain.

The method of accessing DNS settings may vary depending on your hosting service provider.

**Additional Note regarding SSL**

If you encounter problems with the SSL certificate failing with an error that says "certificate not trusted" or a similar message, make sure that you have added letsencrypt.org in the CAA DNS record for your top level domain. For information on how to add the CAA DNS record, please see https://letsencrypt.org/docs/caa/
