Viewer analytics are stored in the “View Stream” and “Audience” pages of your Wistia account. Visit the View Stream to check out how your new content is doing in real time, or dig into identified leads on the Audience page.
View Stream
The View Stream contains a live feed of all public views of your media. Once you’ve started to build an audience, your View Stream will display a list of heatmaps as well as other contextual information like name, geographical location, device, and IP address.
Note
Viewing activity from logged-in users is instead tracked in Private User Sessions.
To access the View Stream, select “View Stream” from the “Analytics” tab in the account navigation menu.
Click the downward arrow next to any heatmap to reveal additional details about the viewer, or click directly on the viewer or network name to access their individual viewer page.
Audience
Note
Email Campaign Links and Turnstiles are not compatible with audio episodes.
In the “Analytics” tab of the account navigation menu, you’ll also find the “Audience” page. The “Audience” page contains two tabs: “Total audience” and “Identified viewers”.
Each audience member has a unique summary line including their total play count, email, source, and last view date if applicable.
Total audience
The “Total audience” tab includes a list of all identified and unidentified viewers. If the viewer is unidentified, you’ll see their network name and geographical location.
In the grey or blue box on the left, you’ll see a number representing that visitor’s total number of viewing sessions. A grey box represents an unidentified viewer, while a blue box represents a viewer who has been identified by a name and/or email address.
Identified viewers
The “Identified viewers” tab lists only viewers identified via Turnstile or an email campaign link. Click the highlighted “Turnstile” button in the description to filter by Turnstile entries only.
Viewer Page
Every public view creates an individual viewer page. To access a viewer page, hover over and click on any viewer or network name in the View Stream or Audience page.
Viewers identified via a Turnstile or email campaign link will be labeled in the View Stream. You can customize any viewer's name by clicking “Edit” on their viewer page.
Each viewer page contains a summary of the viewer's interactions with your media, including:
The date and time of each viewing or listening session.
The total number of media they’ve watched or listened to.
Total time spent watching or listening to your content.
Percent average engagement on your media.
Click "Export to CSV" at the top right of the page to download all viewing session information for that viewer.
