Follow these steps to report a post or comment effectively.

If you encounter any content posted in your group that you find inappropriate or violates community guidelines, you can report it to ensure a safe and respectful environment for all users.

Group Privacy

Groups on Tether are built with privacy in mind. You can only:

  1. Create a group for yourself and invite others to join by sharing a code, SMS invite or email invite. You cannot search for other users on Tether.

  2. You can be invited by another user to join a group, but you must accept the invite. There is no public directory to find or discover groups, you must be invited.

  3. You can always leave a group at anytime.

Step-by-Step Guide

  1. Identify the Content:

    • Locate the post or comment within the group you find inappropriate.

  2. Open the Options Menu:

    • Tap on the three-dot menu icon (⋮) in the top right corner of the post or comment. This will open a dropdown menu with various options.

  3. Select "Report Post":

    • From the dropdown menu, tap on "Report Post." This action will trigger a confirmation prompt at the bottom of the screen.

  4. Confirm the Report:

    • A confirmation prompt will appear with the options to "Report Post" or "Cancel." Tap on "Report Post" to proceed with reporting the content.

  5. Content Removed:

    • After reporting, the content will be immediately hidden.

  6. Moderation Team:

    • The content will be reviewed by the moderation team, and appropriate action will be taken based on the community guidelines.

Tips for Reporting Content

  • Report Promptly: If you come across inappropriate content, report it as soon as possible to minimize its impact on other users.

What Happens After Reporting

  • Review Process: Once you report content, the moderation team will review it.

  • Possible Actions: Based on their findings, the team may remove the content, issue warnings, or take further action against the user who posted it.

  • Confidentiality: Your report will be handled confidentially. The person who posted the content will not be notified about who reported them.

Troubleshooting

  • Unable to Report: If you are unable to report content, ensure you have the latest version of the app and check your internet connection.

  • No Action Taken: If no action seems to have been taken after a reasonable period, consider following up with the support team to check on the status of your report.
