Q: What is Genius?

A: Genius is a Student Information System (SIS) that acts as a front door to your online courses. This SIS also shows high-level student information, such as logins, courses, communication from teachers, attendance, and grades.

Q: Where do I go for technical assistance or questions?

A: Please direct all questions to the eAcademy Help Desk by using this link: https://support.wiueacademy.org. When submitting your ticket, please be as specific as possible. This is the fastest way for you to get assistance. In addition, it allows us to track issues globally to determine if an issue is an isolated event or if there is a larger issue that needs to be addressed. This data is crucial for us to ensure that everything is working properly for all of our users. Please only submit one ticket per issue to avoid confusion.

Q: Where do I go for answers to my questions about course content or assignments?

A: Please reach out directly to your teacher.

Q: Where do I go for answers to my questions about district policies and procedures?

A: Please reach out directly to your school district’s Online Education Advisor, your Guidance Counselor, or your building Principal.

Q: Where do I go for changes to a student’s schedule (add or drop courses)?

A: Please reach out directly to your school district’s Online Education Advisor or your Guidance Counselor for any adjustments that need to be made to a student’s schedule.

Q: How do I get content to load from Accelerate Education onto my iPad?

A: We have noticed that some iPads have a setting enabled that is blocking the content from Accelerate Education. Please take the following steps to resolve this:

~ Open Settings.

~ Scroll down and select Safari.

~ Under Privacy & Security, turn off “Prevent Cross-Site Tracking” and “Block All Cookies”.

~ When the login fails on the iPad, click on close in the upper right, then click on the 3 vertical dots and choose "Use application login".

~ Enter the username and password, then the app works as it should.

Q: How do I submit an assignment in an Accelerate Education course in Buzz? The submit button is grayed out and I am unable to click it to submit work.

A: If you are a parent/guardian and you log into Accelerate Education as a Learning Coach (Observer role), you must make sure you completely log out of both Buzz and Genius. If you simply click X when exiting Buzz, the system will retain your login information, and when your student logs into the course, the student will still be logged in under your account.

Please Note: The Observer role is not permitted to submit assignments.
