If you don’t have the free Google Chrome browser, click here to install it.

Open the Google Chrome browser.

At the top right of the page, click the three vertical dots and then click Settings.

Depending on your Google Chrome version, click Advanced either at the bottom of the page or on the right side of the page, and then click Accessibility.

To the right of Live Caption, click the toggle button to enable the tool. Wait until the speech recognition files have been downloaded.

Log into Genius, access one of your courses, locate an audio or video recording, and then click the play button.

At the top right of the browser page, click Media control.

The closed captioning box will appear at the bottom of the page. If necessary, click the drop-down arrow to see additional text.

To move the closed captioning box on the page, click and drag the box to a new location.

To turn off closed captioning, click Media control at the top right of the browser page and then click the toggle button.
