The Buzz platform is a learning management system where Pearson courses are stored. Courses taught by Pearson teachers are Continuous courses and do not include quarter grading periods. There may be times when you need to export a student’s gradebook from Buzz so that you can calculate a quarter grade.

Log into your Pearson Connexus account: https://wiu7.lms.pearsonconnexus.com/.

Under Choose a student to observe, click the student’s name.

From the Observer app home page, click the Grade icon at the bottom right of the course card. The Current score will be displayed for a Continuous course and is a running, cumulative grade; this is not a quarter grade.

Select SYLLABUS ORDER at the top of the screen, and then from the top right menu bar, click View printer-friendly version (printer icon).

At the bottom right corner of the Grades, click PRINT.

Destination: You can either select a printer or select Save as PDF. If selecting a printer, click Print next. If selecting Save as PDF, click Save next and then select a folder in which to save the file.

Below is an example of Page 1 from a student’s gradebook for a course taught during a previous school year’s second semester.

You can choose to calculate the student’s quarter grade using a quarter’s Start and End Dates. Add up the student’s scores during the quarter and divide by the number of graded items.

The quarter dates for the 2025/2025 school year are as follows:

  • 1st Quarter: 08/19/2024 to 10/21/2024

  • 2nd Quarter: 10/22/2024 to 01/08/2025

  • 3rd Quarter: 01/09/2025 to 03/12/2025

  • 4th Quarter: 03/13/2025 to 05/19/2025

In this example, the student’s overall score was 1752.5%. The student completed 23 gradable activities and was not excused from any of them. The student’s quarter grade would be 76.20% (1752.5% ÷ 23 items = 76.195652%).
