When it comes to your personal information, security is paramount.  That’s why we, at WizeFi, have taken great care to ensure your data is secure on your device, in transit, and on our servers.

On your device, all of the sensitive information you enter into WizeFi is stored in your web browser’s temporary memory for the duration of your logged in session.  When you log out or close your web browser, your data is removed from your device.

In transit, all of your sensitive information is encoded using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) protocol from the time you enter it into the browser until it reaches our secure servers at Amazon Web Services.  Even if you are accessing WizeFi on the go and someone intercepts your information as it travels across the Internet, you have nothing to worry about.  They won't be able to read it because of our use of 256-bit encryption to protect your data in transit.

On our servers, managed by Amazon Web Services, we utilize best practices to ensure access is restricted only to those professionally trained information technology staff members who need access to perform application or database maintenance and upgrades.  In addition to requiring database and user permissions, each request to the DynamoDB service must contain a valid HMAC-SHA256 signature, or the request is rejected.  This ensures that unpermitted staff members, as well as the rest of the world, are kept far away from your sensitive information while it is resting securely on our servers.

While we remain diligent to protect your data in our possession, we encourage you to do the same.  It is your responsibility to ensure you are entering your information into WizeFi and not giving it to someone who is pretending to be us.  Here’s what you should do to protect yourself and your data.  WizeFi’s "server certificate" is issued by Amazon, the SSL certificate authority who verifies that you are really sending your information to us, and not someone pretending to be us.  Before you login in, be sure to check the address bar (also location bar or URL bar) to ensure you are logging into WizeFi.com, www.WizeFi.com, or app.WizeFi.com, and not an impersonator.  An impersonator could use a website with a similar name or an alternate spelling, so be sure to check the name closely.  Lastly, be sure to verify that your connection is secure, “https” rather than “http”, as is typically illustrated by a green padlock in the address bar.  When you see https://app.WizeFi.com in the address bar, you know you are in the right place and that your information is safe and sound with WizeFi.
