If you’d like to enable estimated tax totals on your Weedmaps listing for customers to see in their carts at checkout, you configure taxes in Weedmaps Admin. This service is available for Pickup and Delivery listings. Once this setting is enabled taxes will automatically be displayed in a customer’s cart at checkout before submitting the order to be processed.
Please note: For listings that are currently integrated with a point-of-sale, please visit our Integrations Collection for more information on the expected behavior of tax calculations from your Weedmaps Orders Integration.
Setting up taxes
Here are step-by-step instructions on how to enable taxes on your Weedmaps listing for pickup and delivery orders:
Log in to your Weedmaps Admin account
From the left-hand menu, select either the DISPENSARIES or DELIVERIES tab under the LISTINGS section
Select the TAXES tab at the top of the page
Toggle the Enable Taxes button to turn on the taxes feature
Next, select the Add Tax button
Add different taxes based on your local, city and state requirements.
1. Tax Name
2. Tax Rate (%)
3. Tax Type
Choose the the Use Type to determine which products are taxed. If your listing carries BOTH medical and recreational and you wish to tax both types of products the same then please choose Adult and Medical Use. Otherwise, you will want to choose which tax is properly calculated based on whether your product is Medical or Recreational
Determine which categories will be affected by the tax percentage calculations you inserted under the Apply to Categories section
Select Save
Select the Preview button to confirm taxes are correctly calculating. A separate pop-up window will appear on your screen on the right side where you can select each category to verify the taxes are being calculated correctly
If you would like to disable Taxes, simply click on the Enable Taxes toggle at any time toggle off and then select the “Save” button again. If you need to delete any specific tax calculation, simply click on the trash can icon located on the right side of each tax line item, as shown below.
