Voiceovers are a powerful way to bring your videos to life, and Wochit makes it easy with multiple recording options, including AI-generated voices and self-recorded audio. Follow this step-by-step guide to create and manage your voiceover recordings in Wochit Studio.
Adding a Voiceover
In the lightbox, click on the ‘Voiceover’ icon:
Choosing Your Voiceover Method
There are four different options for adding a voiceover:
Option 1: Upload a Pre-Recorded Voiceover
Option 2: Self-Record Without a Script
If you don’t have a pre-written script, click ‘Start Recording’, select the correct microphone (you may need to give Wochit mic access on first use), and start speaking directly into the mic.
Option 3: Self-Record With a Script
Paste your script into the designated text box.
Select ‘Self Record’ and click ‘Start Recording’.
A teleprompter-style rolling text will appear on your screen to help you read smoothly. You can control the scrolling speed to match your pace.
Option 4: AI-Generated Voiceover
If you have a script ready, choose ‘AI-Generated' to let our AI partner, ElevenLabs, create the voiceover for you.
AI-generated voiceovers are available in multiple languages and accents - browse through the available voices and choose the one that's right for you.
If you have a custom voice created on ElevenLabs, we can connect it to your Wochit account! just contact us for assistance.
Review and Save Your Voiceover
Once the recording is complete, listen to the output and choose whether to keep it or start over.
You can also save the recording to your computer for future use or backup purposes.
Managing Voiceover Files
All saved voiceovers will be added to your lightbox. If you didn’t provide a script, Wochit will automatically transcribe the audio.
Adding the Voiceover to the Timeline
Drag the voiceover from the lightbox to the timeline.
The transcript will appear directly on the timeline, helping you synchronize visuals with the voiceover. Zoom in or out to see more or fewer words as needed.
Editing and Adjusting the Voiceover
From the timeline you can cut, trim, or move the voiceover as needed.
The transcript makes it easy to match visuals perfectly, ensuring every scene aligns with your narration.
Editing the Voiceover Transcript
Select the voiceover track on the timeline and click the (T) icon to open the transcription editor. Each part of the audio will be shown in this window, segmented for easy editing.
Edit or delete words: Select a word or multiple words to edit or delete them directly. The timing will be automatically adjusted to maintain synchronization as much as possible.
