Sometimes you may want to forgo an image or video asset in favor of a colored background card. These make a clear canvas to host a text overlay with long content, chapter card, or visual break / palette-cleanser within your video.

Here's how to set up a background card and add it to your timeline:

In review, here are the steps:

  1. In the timeline view, click the "Background card" icon

  2. Select "Your Brand," "Recent," or enter a HEX/RGB value for your color

  3. Select Solid or Gradient (if gradient, use the slider to control the appearance)

  4. Set the Hue, Saturation, and/or Lightness

  5. Click "Add"

  6. Drag your background card from the lightbox to the timeline
