Hey all,
We heard the feedback, and have updated our pattern building tool, so that it is a seamless experience and now not a separate process!
The new process:
1. Start all patterns with a manual pattern
In Current Fields with a new manual pattern selected, you'll notice the Auto Pattern Recognition mark will be checked by default:
2. Start to manually transcribe items
After you have transcribed 3 similar items, the auto pattern recognition tool will attempt to create a pattern for you automatically:
Note: this will not appear if a pattern is not detected.
3. Check the pattern suggested and edit if needed
The common edits you need to make are extending the Title and Description lines, as you would when using the old pattern creator tool. Simply drag the edges of the colored boxes.
4. Click Save and Close to be automatically switched to using patterns
Now, just click and drag over the full item as if you were using the old patterns to transcribe the full item!
You can always click the Use in Manual Mode button at the top right if you need to add an item that isn't pattern-friendly!
