If you're transcribing a menu that has multiple languages on it, then use these useful tips to transcribe the menu effectively:
Make sure your account is set up for multi-language support - ask your Woflow account manager if you're unsure.
Upload menu in primary language
This is the language that is the main language of the menu, the language all fields will default to.
Languages can be changed at the field level
With multi-language support turned on, all fields will have the globe icon to show/ change the language (spell checking) of that field:
Multiple languages can be set for a field, which will mean that the same field will be spell checked in different languages - this is useful if you're using the same field for multi languages - example: Category title, which has both French and English.
Secondary fields to be used for secondary languages
Both the Title and Description can have a Secondary Title and Secondary Field, which allows you to associate a different language to that field.
When transcribing a bi-lingual menu (for example: French Canadian and English Canadian),
Title and Description fields will be used per the default menu language (example: French Canadian),
Secondary Title and Secondary Description fields can be set to a different language (example: English Canadian):
Example of setting up pattern:
The benefits of this are:
Spell checking and casing will be language specific, so different fields will use different spell checking and casing defaults
Downloading the data will collate the multiple text / description fields into the required title / description fields in your output file.
Example of multiple Titles with spelling and casing per the style guide:
Other fields and multiple languages
Fields that do not have secondary fields - you'll have to include both languages in one in your required style (for example: "first language / second language"):
Category title, description
Price variance
Extras, options
Currently, extras are only in English, so for other languages please use 'custom' for extra type.
Review mode
When in review mode you'll see multiple lines for each of the primary and secondary Title and Description fields. These will export correctly as per your style guide upon download:
