The Simulation Editor follows a simple step-by-step process for creating simulations. There are four main components to a simulation: the overview, location, AI Character, and assessment.
Overview: Covers the general information about the simulation and introduction.
Location: Define the environment in which the AI Character finds itself.
AI Character: This is where you create the avatar with which the learner interacts with (there could be multiple within a program); AI Characters are composed of the following key attributes:
Identity
Appearance
Prompt (this includes instructions for their personality and information about which role they will have in the simulation)
Assessment: The instructions/rubric used to assess the learners competencies are defined here. The LLM will use these to provide learners with feedback on their performance.
Simulation Overview Section
The first section in the Editor is the Overview, and there are two tabs in this step: Main Information and an optional Introduction.
Main Information tab.
Main Information tab:
In the main information page you will define the following:
Simulation name: the title of the simulation displayed to learners.
Simulation description: explanation or summary of the simulation displayed to learners.
Simulation poster: this is the image that is displayed in the program dashboard for this simulation; you can choose or upload from the library or autogenerate the image.
The Main Information details are displayed in the following locations of the program/simulation display (see image below).
Display of Main Information.
Introduction (Optional) tab:
The Introduction is an optional step you can add to your simulation. It provides a text-based introduction to the learner before their simulation begins (refer to Display of Introduction for how it will appear).
Display of Introduction.
To use it, checkmark the box “Enable introduction scene” and fill out the fields:
