1. Introduce the Platform

Start by introducing the platform as a safe, interactive learning tool.

"This platform lets you practice skills through conversations with a realistic AI Character. It’s like having a virtual coach or partner that’s always available to help you improve."

  • Explain that the experiences simulate real-life situations, such as job interviews, patient situations, language practice, or customer interactions.

  • Emphasize that students can repeat exercises multiple times, which helps them build confidence, muscle memory, and adaptability.

  • Encourage them to try new strategies and approaches and to leverage the feedback to reflect on their performance.

2. Highlight the Benefits

Students will engage more if they understand why this tool is valuable.

a. Personalized Feedback

  • Wonda provides instant, tailored feedback on learner performance based on the criteria that has been inputted by the instructor.

  • It helps identify potential strengths and areas for improvement.

  • Stress that feedback generated by AI might not be as robust or accurate as feedback provided by an instructor, so they should be both open to and critical of the outputs.

b. Repetition and Accessibility

  • Students can experiment, make mistakes, and try again without pressure or risking their relationship with another person.

  • Repeated practice, especially followed by feedback, helps build stronger skill sets and the awareness of one’s skills.

  • The simulations are always available, making it easier to practice anytime, anywhere.

3. Explain How It Works

Give a simple overview of the process so students feel comfortable. This can be conducted live or delivered via a pre-recorded video.

  1. Choose a simulation and interact with the AI Character until the “End Conversation” button lights up. At this point, you can either continue the conversation until the end to demonstrate what a complete simulation might look like, or you can end the conversation to receive the feedback report.

  2. Review feedback reports and explain the criteria against which learners will receive feedback. You might want to share a rubric with them as well.

4. Set Expectations

To avoid misunderstandings, clarify what the platform can and cannot do.

  • It’s a practice tool, not a replacement for live human interaction.

  • The AI Character is prompted to simulate realistic responses, but some responses and scenarios may still feel slightly unnatural.

  • Ideally, students should combine simulation practice with real-world application for the best results.

  • If any AI-generated feedback is confusing, learners should consult their instructor.

5. Invite Questions and Feedback

Wrap up by opening the floor for students to ask questions and raise concerns.

  • Address issues around privacy and data security, explaining how their information is protected and inaccessible to anyone outside the organization.

  • Request feedback on their first experiences so you can support them better.
