The Vehicle Acquisition Search Tool (VAST) helps you efficiently source commercial vehicles outside your current inventory. With access to listings from auctions, fleets, rental companies, and partner dealerships, VAST allows you to locate and acquire the specific vehicles your customers are looking for — even when they aren’t currently on your lot.
By leveraging VAST, you can maintain a steady inventory flow, meet more customer needs, and strengthen your commercial sales strategy.

Accessing VAST
Any user with access to the WTS Portal can use VAST. Follow the steps below to access VAST from the WTS Portal:
After logging into the portal, select VAST from the left-side navigation rail.
Once you’re on the VAST page, you’ll see all vehicles currently available for purchase.
Click Contact Owner on a listing to reach out about that vehicle. Clicking the Contact Owner button opens the Contact Owner pop-up, where you'll find contact information for the dealer that the listing belongs to as well as a contact form you can use to email them from directly within the portal. Your message is emailed to the stocking dealer's trade contact. Subsequent email interactions will occur within your email inbox, not within the portal.
How quickly you hear back depends on the dealership you contacted. If you don't get a prompt reply, it's a good idea to follow up by phone.
Full and Limited VAST Access
Depending on your setup, your dealership has full or limited VAST access, which changes what you see on the VAST page.
Full access – You see the Available For Purchase and Whole WTS Network tabs. The inventory source filters are available on Available For Purchase.
Limited access – You see only Available For Purchase, with results from the pool partners your dealership is set up with. The Whole WTS Network tab and the inventory source filters don't appear.
At both levels, you'll see a pool's own tab, such as BrightDrop, if your dealership is set up with that pool. Saved searches and acquisition inquiries work the same either way.
Filtering Your Search
To find the right vehicle faster, use the facets located on the left-hand side of the VAST page. For a quick way to narrow down to listings that you may be able to acquire, we recommend using:
Featured for Dealer Purchase
Auction / Buy Now
These facets include vehicles that have already been pre-approved for dealer purchase, simplifying your buying process.
With limited access, the inventory source filters don't appear.
Ways to Filter Available Inventory
You can refine your search using a variety of categories:
Type and Availability – Choose between auction listings or dealer listings.
By Owner – Identify listings from specific sellers or sources.
Auction – search auction inventory more easily via VAST. Listings are categorized by body type, making the task of narrowing down to what you're actually looking for much quicker.
Resale – Work Truck Solutions maintains strategic partnerships to bring you used inventory from a variety of sources.
Pool – Shows bailment pool inventory. A bailment pool is a reserved inventory of unfinished vehicle chassis maintained on an upfitter's lot while remaining owned by the manufacturer, allowing commercial vehicle dealers to rapidly source and customize vehicles.
Condition – Filter by new or used vehicles.
Chassis Options & Body Options – Locate configurations that match your customer’s needs.
State – Filter by the location of the listing.
Using the Whole WTS Network Tab
At the top of the VAST page, you’ll find the Whole WTS Network tab. This tab lets you search across the entire Work Truck Solutions dealer network, giving you access to an even larger pool of commercial vehicle listings.
This tab is available with full VAST access.
Note: Vehicles under the Whole WTS Network tab may not be pre-approved for dealer purchase, so additional steps may be required before purchase.
You can use the same set of filters here to locate vehicles that best fit your customer’s request or your dealership’s inventory needs.
