Under the Gender basic profile field, users have the option to select Non-binary.
Note: ultimately, all of the choices under the Gender field are optional, and Employees who select no choice at all will still be able to proceed.
To update the field on existing profiles, follow these steps:
The employee and Admins will also be able to edit the Gender field after the fact. Locate the Employee via either the staff page or searching in the top left search bar.
Navigate to the Employee's profile and click the Edit button.
Select the desired Gender option.
Click Save.
And here we have the updated field.
Updating the Gender field under Basic Profile Information, like we've done above, does not update the mapping on forms with a Gender field that maps to a Custom Field.
Also note that at any one time, there should only be one Gender field in use. In other words, if your company is currently implementing its Gender fields under Basic Profile, we recommend you continue with this workflow.
Vice versa, if you are using custom Gender fields instead, continue to use them, as well as avoid using the basic profile fields. This will ensure that forms with a Gender field currently mapped to that custom field will continue to work properly.
If you and your team would like to remove Non-binary from the selectable gender options, please reach out to our support team via chat or email (support@workbright.com), and they will be able to update this for you.
Note: If you have staff who had Non-binary as their gender when you removed the Non-binary option, they will be moved to a blank gender status that will need to be updated. No new staff would be able to add Non-binary as their gender, and no report filters would be available to filter to those who have selected Non-binary once the option is removed.
