How to add an administrator with limited view or edit access

How do I add an administrator with limited access to our WorkBright account, or limit the what one of my existing admins can see and do?

Updated over a month ago

If your company has purchased WorkBright’s “Customized User Permissions” functionality, you can restrict an administrator’s access level in WorkBright on a very granular level.

To get started, go to your Settings Tab, then click Admin Users on the left-hand panel.

Here, you can either add a new administrator with “Restricted Access",

-OR- You can edit an existing Admin.

In either case, after selecting “Restricted Access”, click “Create Permission Policy.” This will engage the Permission Policy wizard. From here, follow each step to properly restrict what your administrator can see and do in your WorkBright account.

Some Important Things to Note:

1. "Groups" are the foundation of permission policies in WorkBright.

The very first screen of the WorkBright permission policy wizard, as seen above,e asks you, “What groups should this administrator have access to?” Think of this as, “What PEOPLE do I want to give this administrator access to?” If it’s everyone, simply select every group. If no group or combination of groups perfectly represents which people this administrator needs to be able to access on some level, then you may need to add or reconfigure your Groups. To set up Groups, click the Settings tab, then click Groups on the left-hand panel.

2. Restricted Admins automatically lose EVERYTHING that occurs under the “Settings” tab.

Most of what occurs under the settings tab is setup and configuration related, and therefore restricted to Full Access administrators. Restricted admins cannot change your company address, onboarding deadlines, add or edit custom fields, or add new administrators. If any of this functionality is paramount to an admin’s work, consider making them a Full Access admin.

Once you get to Step 7 of the Permissions Policy wizard, you will review the summary of permissions you have configured, then scroll to the bottom of the page and click the blue "Finish" button in the bottom, right-hand corner of the screen.
