Summer is in full swing and we've got a bunch of new items in our July release.

Check them out below or access a pdf version HERE.

My Projects is now more powerful, for all users

Even if you're not a project owner, we want the My Projects widget to be your place to see and order all of your projects in one place.

No matter your role in a project (ex. Owner, Task Assignee), you'll now see it in the My Projects widget.

You can filter by your role, the project status, and type.

We've also added more sorting options to all three home page widgets (My Projects, My Tasks, Pending Project Requests), and the ability to sort in ascending or descending order by clicking the arrow in the sort field.

Auto-login makes it easier than ever for reviewers to review proofs

We know it's hard to get reviewers to give you the feedback you need. To make it easier than ever, we've added an auto-login option for proof reviewers.

Enabling this feature means your reviewers don't have to keep track of a username or password. They just click the link in their email notification and the system logs them in and takes them straight to the proof.

To enable this feature, go to the Proof Setting tab in the Account Admin section. There you can turn on auto-login and set how long you want the link to be active for.

Measurement tool added to proofing

You can now easily check measurements on proofs. Simply click the ruler icon and check proof elements in pixels, inches, centimeters and millimeters.

Improvements to version control

We've made it even faster to see, manage and add versions to proofs.

  • click the down arrow next the proof version name in the sidebar to view all versions of a proof.

  • click the + icon to add a new version

You can now Star (favorite) proofs

If you need to star (favorite) a proof file to make it easier to keep track of, click the star icon to the left of the proof name.

You can do this in any of your lists

Or, in an open proof

To access your starred proofs, click the "Star" icon in the upper right corner of the app, next to your user icon. Proofs will appear in the "All" tab and the "Proofs" tab.

New proof comment "Resolved" statuses

We've heard from users that the ability to "Resolve" proof comments makes it super simple for users to identify what comments/edits have been made. We also know that resolved doesn't work for every comment. Sometimes you're working on them still, and sometimes you can't make the changes for any number of reasons.

Now, when resolving comments, you can choose to mark the comment as:

  • Resolved

  • Accepted

  • Rejected

  • Cancelled

New task statuses

Part of continuous improvement is truly understanding how projects progress through their lifecycle. Sometimes, tasks are skipped, and sometimes they are cancelled. Its good to understand when that happens and why; was that project an outlier or is there a trend that needs to be understood.

Workgroups now allows tasks to be marked as skipped or cancelled on a project. Please note that if the project is waterfall, the workflow will move forward to the next task.

Changes to the Info tab in the Proof sidebar

We've given the "Info" tab in the Proof sidebar a makeover. Also, if files have been added to comments, you'll be able to see and download those in the tab.

You can now adjust the order of the options in your forms

In form fields with values (dropdowns, radio buttons, checkboxes), you can drag and drop the values into the appropriate order.

We've also added several other enhancements to Workgroups DaVinci Pro, including:

  • giving reviewers the choice to markup proofs without making comments, if you do that sort of thing.

  • giving admins the option to delete anonymous proof reviewers from the system

  • changing the Observer/Watcher icon in the app from an eye to binoculars

  • adding hover text in the My Projects, My Tasks and Pending Project Requests widgets

  • cleaned up the project header so that it takes up less screen space

  • removed the "projected completion date" when projects are placed on hold when a project is placed on hold
