Creating Tasks

Tasks are the building blocks of a project. To create a new task in a project, navigate to the Task List tab and click + New task.

Give the task a name (required), select a due date, choose assignees, and set a task status. Click Add Task.

Tasks assigned to users will now appear in the user's My tasks widget on the home page. If the task was assigned to a group, then the task will appear in the My tasks widget for all of the group members.

Changing Task Status

Task statuses can be updated anywhere the task status icon is visible in the system. Click on the icon and select the new status

Task Views

Tasks are organized into three different views on a project: List, Board, & Calendar.

Task List - A list of all tasks. Tasks can be reordered via drag and drop.

Task Board - Tasks are organized in columns by task status. Tasks can be reordered via drag and drop within a column. Dragging a task to a new column will update the task's status

Task Calendar - Tasks are organized on a calendar by their due date. Any task that does not have a due date is listed in the right side bar. Task due dates can be assigned or changed by dragging a task to a date on the calendar.

Task Details

To view and edit a task's details, click on the task name. In the pop up modal you can do the following:

  • Update task status

  • Edit task name

  • Watch a task

  • Delete a task

  • Assign users and groups

  • Set a due date, duration, and effort

  • Give the task a description

  • Create a task checklist

  • Upload files

  • Post comments and communicate with team members in the Activity Feed
