Workstream gives you flexibility when managing time off balances by offering three types of adjustments.
Sick Leave/Time-Off Taken records leave that has already been used and ensures it flows into the next payroll run.
Balance Adjustments let you update a team member’s available hours without affecting payroll, useful for corrections or carryovers.
Finally, Termination Payouts handle unused time off when an employee leaves, automatically applying it to payroll so payouts are processed accurately. Together, these options help you keep balances accurate and payroll consistent.
Here's how to adjust a time off balance:
💡 When to adjust a time off balance?
Adjust a time off balance if a team member’s hours need to be corrected, carried over, or paid out at termination.
Don't adjust a balance if the team member submitted a time off request in the Workstream US app. Approved requests are automatically tracked in their hours and flow into payroll.
Go to the employee's profile
Go to Payroll and select Team Members.
(If you're using the unified Team tab) In Team View, go to Team.Find the team member whose time off balance you want to adjust, then open their profile.
Go to the Time off tab.
Select the three-dot menu ••• on the time off policy you want to adjust, then Adjust balance.
