How to authenticate your certificate for China/Vietnam

Some countries will require documents including TESOL/TEFL certificates to be authenticated before they can be used with visa applications. In particular, China and Vietnam are two of the countries that generally require this process.

The process would involve having your documents notarized by a Notary Public, then legalized by the FCO, and finally taken to the embassy and authenticated. It’s quite a complicated process, but can be made much easier with tried and tested services.

If you wish to get the certificate authenticated for use in either of these countries, you’d follow these steps:

1. Purchase the China/Vietnam authentication service through this site here: Hague Apostille – World TESOL Academy Graduate Authentication. This link will give you additional discounts that are reserved for World TESOL Academy graduates. There are other companies aside from Hague Apostille, but we’d recommend them as they provide a fast and dependable service.

2. After this, you would need to order the hardcopy of your certificate from our site here: https://www.worldtesolacademy.com/ordering-your-certificate/

When ordering your certificate you should put the Hague Apostille address from the order form at their website.

3. We’ll then get your certificate printed, packaged, and shipped to Hague Apostille. They’ll have it processed and taken to a notary public to be notarized. After this, it will be sent to the FCO and be legalized, and finally it will be taken to the Chinese/Vietnamese embassy for authentication.

The process can take a few weeks to complete, so it’s best to start early if you’re hoping to finish quickly and head overseas.
