Purpose of This Step

Communities are the heart of the Woveo platform. As a community administrator or an individual member, your first big win is establishing your place in a financial community — either by creating your own community and seeing your first member join, or by joining a community aligned with your goals.

This onboarding step helps you:

• Understand the structure and purpose of a Woveo community

• Complete the key action of joining or forming a community

• If you are a community Administrator - Learn how to invite others to grow your community

• Reach your first moment of value on the platform

What is a Woveo Community?

A Woveo community is a digital home where individuals or collectives work toward financial prosperity together. In this space, you can:

Pool resources

Communicate with members

Create and manage financial groups

Drive shared initiatives for community wealth

Getting Started: As a Community Administrator

🎬 Step 1: Create a Community

Task: From your Woveo dashboard, tap “Create Community.”

• Name your community

• Add a short description and mission statement

• Choose visibility: Open or Closed

Example:

Community Name: Afripride Women’s Cooperative

Description: Empowering Black women entrepreneurs to access capital and peer support.

Visibility: Closed (invite-only)

📥 Step 2: Invite Members to Join

Task: Once your community is created, click “Invite Members.”

• Share the invite link via text, email, or WhatsApp

• Or, manually add members using their email or phone number

🔒 Only community admins can view full member details (name, phone, email).

Example:

Sent WhatsApp Message:

“Hey Sandra, join our Afripride group on Woveo so we can plan our susu goals together. Here’s the link: [invite link]”

By clickint on the respective icons above you are able to invite members to join your community.

👀 Step 3: Monitor Member Joins

Once a member accepts the invitation:

• You’ll see their name in your Community Members tab

• You’ve officially reached your first value milestone! 🎉

As a community Admin you are able to view greater details and information respective to your community, that normal members can not view.

Getting Started: As a New Member

🔎 Step 1: Searching for a Community or Accepting yoru Community Invitation

Task: Tap the magnifying glass icon on your home screen

• Browse open communities

• Accept invitations in the “Invited” tab

Example:

• You receive an invite to “Youth Builders Co-op”

• Tap “Accept Invitation” under “Invited” and you’re in!\

Step 2: Join and Introduce Yourself

• Visit the Community Chat

• Say hello and share what you hope to achieve

• Browse available groups and request to join one that fits your goals

Example Message in Chat:

“Hi everyone, I’m Tolu. I’m hoping to save up for my tuition fees this year. Excited to be here!”
