Meeting deadlines is extremely important to your success as an MScFE student. If you did not submit an assignment before the existing deadline, you will earn 0 for the grade.

If an extenuating circumstance arises, you may submit an extensions request with documented proof of the situation (ie. natural disaster, medical illness, death in the family, etc.). Without documentation of an extenuating circumstance WQU reserves the right to deny the extension request and note the student records if requests become excessive.

For Group Work Projects, students should only submit an extension request if they are left working alone or their group member withdrew 2 days before the deadline. Otherwise, all students are expected to meet the existing deadlines and use the modified instructions for groups with reduced size.

How to submit Extension Request:

  1. Download one of the forms below.

  2. Complete the form on your local device.

  3. Open ticket to Student Support by using the chatbot in the bottom right corner of the learning platform or the Help Center.

  4. Attach the completed Extension Request form

  5. Attach proof of the extenuating circumstance

The request should be submitted at least 2 business days prior to the deadline for sufficient review time.

How will my grade be impacted?

If you are awarded an extension request due to extenuating circumstances there will be no grade penalty. If you miss one assignment and are denied an extension request you will still have plenty of opportunities to improve your grade. The course grade is calculated based on 1000 potential points. Keep in mind, the passing grade for each course is 70% and in order to graduate you must maintain a cumulative average score of 80%. For more details about the grading policies please refer to pages 29-31 in the University Catalog.
